Our Faith

Lutherans are the oldest and largest protestant group in the world. We have recently (July 2011) joined the NALC (North American Lutheran Church) and are affiliated with them.

We believe that we are saved by God’s grace and mercy alone, and not by anything that we could do to earn God’s favor.

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that nothing should be added to or taken away from the inspired Word of God.

We practice infant baptism as a sign of God’s grace at work even before we are ready to accept it. A Rite of Confirmation takes place in the early teen years, following a period of instruction. These instructional Confirmation Classes are held Sunday evenings from September through May.

Our worship follows a formal liturgical style, but we are relaxed within that style. Members dress formally as well as informally as both are acceptable.
